Skills to Empower People™: the programme


Transitioning to a leadership position is an exciting, yet often daunting, proposition. As we move into our new roles, we often find ourselves faced with a knowledge and skills gap of what it means to be an effective (let alone great!) leader.

When we realise we have this gap it can bring to the surface many stories we’ve internalised over the years, affecting our confidence and belief in ourselves. Unless this is addressed, it impacts our wellbeing and performance, leading to disengagement and low morale.

We all have our own stories that are created by the lens we’ve viewed our experiences through and the meaning we’ve placed on them. If we tell ourselves these stories for long enough, they become deep-rooted beliefs that drive our behaviour. How we respond to the stories we create isn’t right or wrong – although often can be unhelpful. It’s just our personal response dictated by our own experiences.

Skills to Empower People is my signature programme and takes place over six months. Drawing on techniques from coaching, performance psychology, positive psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy, neuroscience, mindfulness and communication skills, the programme focuses on supporting your leaders through the transition to leadership by gently unpicking unhelpful individual stories through powerful one-to-one coaching and mentoring sessions to create new empowering stories that support growth.

Running alongside the individual sessions are group workshops to develop fundamental leadership skills that enable a confident transition into leadership roles, ensuring your aspiring leaders have the knowledge, tools, confidence and beliefs to be a great leader and lead with courage and empathy from day one.

The programme can be delivered in person, or online.


How it works


360 report and feedback

We start with a confidential FeedForward 360, which will be reviewed and discussed in the individual coaching sessions.

One-to-one coaching

Each aspiring leader will receive 6 x 90-minute one-to-one coaching sessions with me.

Leadership development

Each month, over the six-month duration of the programme, there will be a 3.5 hour workshop, with relevant worksheets to upskill your aspiring leaders with fundamental leadership skills such as coaching, communications, storytelling and giving feedback.

Between sessions there will be appropriate curated content to support, continue, embed and apply the learning.

Support

Delegates will each receive at their convenience, 2 x 30-minute support calls with me during the programme, plus access to me via email for support, encouragement and to share their wins during the programme.
